About Me
Jenilee was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, but was raised in a western suburb of Chicago. She had an interest in dancing and singing at the young age of three, and her parents gave her the support by enrolling her in technical dance classes, as well as private vocal lessons. She competed throughout her childhood and teenage years, which allowed her to experience summers in Los Angeles as a teenager on dance scholarships. Another art form that peaked her interest in high school was photography. Since her passion was for multiple forms of creative arts, her whole life was spent preparing for a career in the entertainment industry.
At the age of eighteen, she decided to move to Los Angeles on her own to pursue her dreams. Some of her credits in the dance industry include: choreographing and dancing for Taryn Manning’s band, Boomkat, dancing in Vince Neil’s production “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and dancing in the film “Spelling Bee,” choreographed by Helene Phillips. She also worked with different music producers, writing her own lyrics to songs that she recorded.
After retiring from the dance industry full time she realized that she wanted her next career to involve a field that she could relate to as an athlete and artistic personality. Jenilee earned her associates degree in journalism from Glendale Community College in 2021, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Currently, she is enrolled at California State University, Northridge and is working on her bachelors degree in journalism with a focus in broadcast. Her career goal is to become a sports broadcast journalist and to give athletes a true outlet to express who they are as people outside of just what they do on the field or court. She co-hosted a fantasy football show for three years, which gave her the inspiration to pursue a job in the sports journalism field. She works at gaining a deeper understanding of who she is, and believes in the importance of physical and mental health working as one. She’s a fitness enthusiast, and she uses photography as an outlet for creativity. For her, capturing the beauty of the world is a way to spiritually and mentally grow. Her goal in life is to inspire others by sharing her journey, and give to the world in any way she can.
